More than 60 Participants from multiple engineering discipline have participated in this workshop. IoT technology has taken all over. Today we can monitor various sensor data, appliances and machines over the internet. All is possible due to the concept of IoT.

It has been predicted that by year 2020 we will have 50 Billion connected devices. The IoT industry is expected to explode to a worth of $19 trillion. IoT has emerged as an important technology to build products of future as well as yielded new job prospects. With the progression in advancement of technology, several innovations have been made in the field of communications that are transiting to Internet of Things. Participants having immense enthusiasm in the field of technologies, the workshop indeed made their vision turn into reality. It was three Days Hands-on Workshop where from day one itself, participants were allowed to jump into the field of electronics with hands-on activities.

Day one–Concepts were covered from basics of IoT and software for IoT to simple blinking program to GPIO excess, UART and PWM. It enticed participants of non-electronic field too.

Day Two – Internet protocols UDP and MQTT were introduced with taking ESP-8266 Wi-Fi module over internet. Best part of the day was, chat over MQTT protocol.

Day Three–Last day was about making participants learn Application Development using Processing IDE. Intuitive GUI design for Android App was designed using processing involving communication between android app and ESP-8266. Last session involved demonstration of IoT projects carried out in MEFGI, EC Department. It provided platform for participants to learn the most trending technology of the world with their real world applications.
